Liquidity of liquidity portfolios

The liquidity portfolio is a part of the liquidity reserve of FI, therefore it should
contain securities, which will
Ω Be pledgeable/repoable by the central bank or other counterparties
Ω Have a large issue volume
Ω Have an effective market
Ω Have no credit risk
Ω Be issued by international well-known issuers
These characteristics normally enable the FI to get liquidity quickly and at relatively
low cost from the central bank or other counterparties. 469
