How can you manage and control model risk?

Managing and controlling model risk is a difficult task, which should be performed
on a case-by-case basis. Therefore, the following should not be considered as a set
of recipes, but rather as the beginning of a checklist for model risk management and
control. Surprisingly, we have to say that the process depends crucially on the
personal judgement and experience of the model builder.
