Man-made catastrophe risks
There may also be man-made catastrophes such as those caused by activities
inherently risky located nearby such as a prison, airport, transportation route (rail,
road), chemical works, landfill site, nuclear plant, military base, defence plant,
foreign embassy, petrol station, terrorist target, tube/rail station, exclusion zone.
There may be other factors which need to be taken into account based on historical
experience such as whether the area is likely to be affected by: epidemic, radioactive/
toxic contamination, gas, bomb threat, arson, act of war, political/union/religious/
activism, a high incidence of criminal activity.
The questions above are similar to those that would be asked by any insurer of the
buildings against the events described.
