The exchange-traded currency option markets are concentrated on two US
exchanges, the International Monetary Market (IMM) division of the Chicago Mercantile
Exchange and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX). Options on major currencies
such as the German mark, Japanese yen, pound sterling and Swiss franc against
the dollar, and on major cross rates such as sterling–mark and mark–yen are traded.
There are liquid over-the-counter markets in a much wider variety of currency
pairs and maturities than on the exchanges.
