I get calls almost every day asking for direction to sources of start-up capital. Sources of financing
available to prospective and expanding businesses fall into two broad categories, which we will
discuss in the remainder of the chapter:
• Debt financing (dollars borrowed)
• Equity financing (ownership dollars
