In this chapter, you were encouraged to evaluate your own readiness to make the transition from
employee to business owner. By now, you should also better understand how evaluate business
opportunities that match your skills and interests as well as your personal financial situation.
Chapter 2 will focus on the choices you will have as to whether you want to start a new business,
buy an existing business, or purchase a franchise. You will also find some information to think
about if you are toying with the idea of starting a non-profit business or you are wondering how
to capitalize on a new product or invention.
